Batteries and boat electrics
Capacity determines how many hours the fishfinder, electric motor and lights will run. Lithium batteries are lighter and last longer; lead-acid ones are cheaper.
Who this model suits best.
By capacity
Add up the current draw of all devices and multiply by the hours. With a lead-acid battery, only half the capacity is usable in practice.
By type
Lithium (LiFePO4) weighs roughly a third as much and withstands more cycles; AGM is cheaper and more resistant to vibration.
Don't forget the charger
A lithium battery needs a dedicated charger. An unsuitable charger shortens its service life or doesn't charge it at all.

The Blue Smart IP67 battery charger is a wireless solution that lets you monitor voltage and current, change settings and update the charger when new features become available. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, the functionality of the IP67 charger is extended to match our IP22 and IP65 chargers. Fully sealed: waterproof, shockproof and ignition protected. Water, oil or dirt will not harm the Blue Smart IP67 battery charger. The housing is made of cast aluminium, and the electronics are encapsulated in resin. The highest efficiency ever achieved! Setting a new industry standard, these chargers, with an efficiency of 92 % or more, dissipate three to four times less heat. And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than one watt – five to ten times better than the industry standard.
