GARMIN

A chartplotter for three purposes

The same device works for fishing, sailing and simply cruising for leisure. For the angler it shows bottom contours and fish; for the sailor — wind, tacks and the race start line; and for the motorboat or yacht owner — the route, autopilot and readings from all onboard systems on one screen.

“GARMIN SAILASSIST™” FEATURES SAILING POLARS LAYLINES WIND ROSE RACE START MULTI-CHART VIEW ORIENTATION
1 / 6
  1. 01

    “GARMIN SAILASSIST™” FEATURES

See laylines, race start line guidance, an enhanced wind rose, heading and course over ground lines, true wind data fields and a tides / currents / time slider, wind angle, drift, wind speed and more.

  2. 02

    SAILING POLARS

Use the polar table to get key data, including sailing at a given wind angle and speed, so you know whether you need to trim the sails.

  3. 03

    LAYLINES

Follow visual guidance for optimal tacking and gybing angles: green – for port, red – for starboard. Laylines help you hold the most efficient course, avoid obstacles and reduce speed loss from unnecessary manoeuvres.

  4. 04

    WIND ROSE

See true (orange line) and apparent (blue line) wind angles on the chart. The 360-degree display lets you instantly see all relevant wind information without splitting the screen, so you can focus on navigating the boat and avoiding hazards.

  5. 05

    RACE START

Precisely control your timing and position relative to the line using visual alerts and a timer. Race start assistance makes it easier to manoeuvre and track the countdown, so you can concentrate on speed and strategy and avoid collisions.

  6. 06

    MULTI-CHART VIEW ORIENTATION

Use two charts at the same time – one oriented course-up and the other north-up – for a better understanding of the situation. The dual view helps you stay oriented when tacking or gybing, making it easier to track your position and avoid hazards.
