Precise boat heading on your screen
The SteadyCast heading sensor tells the chartplotter where the bow is actually pointing. Without it, the chart orientation and the live sonar image wander on the screen — especially when you are moving slowly or holding still.
Who this model suits best.
For fishing with live sonar
The perspective view rotates with the boat, so you can see in which direction you are casting your lure.
For trolling and slow cruising
At low speed the GPS course is no longer reliable — the sensor replaces it with a true reading of the boat's heading.
To expand an existing Garmin system
Connect it to your existing chartplotter and the behaviour of the chart and course line improves immediately.
Every detail — considered on its own.
Heading even when stationary
The reading stays accurate even when the boat is stationary or creeping along at trolling speed.
Quick calibration
A two-step procedure — no need for long turning manoeuvres or a visit to the service centre.
Stable image in waves
Waves no longer make the chart and sonar image jump around on the screen.
Plug-and-play connectors
NMEA 2000 interface — one cable to the boat's existing network, with no separate power setup.
Flexible mounting location
The compact housing fits wherever is convenient, so it does not get in the way of other helm equipment.
Up close, from every side.
The SteadyCast heading sensor is a simple, easy-to-install solution that provides quick calibration and top-class heading accuracy. It aligns the bow of the boat with its true orientation, so you can see on the chartplotter screen which direction you are casting. The heading data update rate reaches 10 Hz and the accuracy is ±3 degrees, so the map orientation and the boat's heading line match reality even at trolling speed or when the boat is stationary. You can also be sure that the heading information will stay accurate even in rough, choppy water. The SteadyCast heading sensor is easy to install thanks to the NMEA 2000® “plug and play” interface and a simple 2-step precise calibration process for compatible Garmin chartplotters. Basic calibration applies to Garmin echoMAP™ models and other NMEA 2000 devices.
