Offset drive shaft
The offset drive allows the engine to be made more compact: the centre of gravity is moved forward, weight distribution and balance improve, and vibration is reduced.
Self-adjusting timing chain
The simple, maintenance-free chain runs in an oil bath, so it never needs lubricating, while a hydraulic tensioner constantly maintains the correct tension.
“Lean Burn” fuel control
The system anticipates fuel demand based on running conditions and delivers the optimum fuel-air mixture — the engine uses noticeably less fuel.
Keyless start
Convenient and simple starting; the system also acts as an immobiliser and makes theft more difficult.
Tilt limiter
An adjustable switch prevents the engine from tilting up beyond a set limit, protecting the boat and the engine from damage.
