New-generation gearcase
The frontal area has been reduced by 4 %, increasing top speed by more than 2 %. Data based on Suzuki's internal tests under identical conditions; results depend on the boat and operating conditions.
“Watergrip” propeller
The stainless steel propeller with a replaceable square hub efficiently converts engine power into thrust — better grip in the water and better performance.
Counter-rotating twin propellers
Better grip on the water: two counter-rotating propellers share the torque more evenly, so the load on each is lower and the gearcase can be made smaller in diameter.
Direct intake system
The double-vane system keeps water out even in the toughest conditions: the outer vanes deflect spray, while the inner ones prevent water from entering the engine.
Gearcase shape
A shape designed using fluid dynamics calculations reduces drag and delivers water to the propellers as efficiently as possible.
“Lean Burn” fuel control
The system anticipates fuel demand based on running conditions and delivers the optimum fuel-air mixture — the engine uses noticeably less fuel.
Offset drive shaft
The offset drive allows the engine to be made more compact: the centre of gravity is moved forward, weight distribution and balance improve, and vibration is reduced.
Variable valve timing (VVT)
The system is controlled by hydraulic pressure from the oil pump, and everything happens automatically — all you have to do is enjoy the power and the ride.
Precision control
The advanced system ensures smooth, precise control and crisp gear shifting — especially at low revs when manoeuvring in the marina.
